By creating an account or using Mentl, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. "Mentl," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of this service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mentl. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You may not create more than one account per person. Do not share your account with others.
During signup you will choose a unique username. Your username is your public identity on leaderboards and in the friends feature — other users can find you by searching for it. You are responsible for keeping your username appropriate and non-impersonating. You may change your username at any time from your account settings.
Individual accounts are offered on a Free plan or a paid Pro subscription, with current pricing shown on our pricing page. Pro subscriptions bill monthly and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the billing portal; your access continues through the end of the paid period, and we do not provide prorated refunds except as required by law. The platform includes a skills and learning system; certain features within it — such as AI-powered custom skill generation — are gated and available only to eligible accounts. Any pricing changes or new plan features will be communicated in advance per Section 13.
Organizations using the For Teams workspace purchase assessment credits and may purchase per-seat Training subscriptions. Credit purchases are final except as required by law; Training subscriptions renew and may be cancelled on the same terms as Pro subscriptions above.
You agree not to:
Game scores are recorded automatically by the server after each session. Only sessions played with default settings count toward the public leaderboard; custom settings are excluded by design. Leaderboards include friends-scoped views — if you add friends, they can see your scores there. Skill module progress (completion status and scores) is tracked privately per user and does not appear on the public leaderboard.
We may remove or correct any score that appears to have been submitted in violation of these terms or in a manner inconsistent with normal use, at our sole discretion.
Prompt engineering challenge submissions, Daily Mentl prompt responses, and creative thinking challenge responses are evaluated and scored by AI language models. This applies both to practice challenges you attempt for your own development and to assessments sent to you by a recruiting organization. The AI model assesses your submission against a rubric; the resulting score and feedback are then provided to you and, for recruiter-sent assessments, to the organization that invited you.
We do not guarantee that AI-generated scores are free from error. Recruiting organizations using Mentl assessments are responsible for exercising independent human judgment when using scores as part of any hiring or evaluation process.
Eligible users may generate custom skills using AI by submitting a prompt or source material. Generated skills are private by default and visible only to you until published. You are responsible for the content you submit as input and for ensuring the resulting skill does not violate these terms or applicable law.
We reserve the right to remove AI-generated content that violates these terms. Generation is rate-limited and subject to feature availability. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any purpose.
The Mentl application, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Mentl and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Mentl is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Use the service at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mentl shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
We may suspend or permanently delete your account at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms. You may also close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in North Carolina.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email. Continued use of Mentl after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the last update.
